In March of 2015 Stony Brook physician assistant students and a dentist traveled to Campeche-Dumay, Haiti. This rural community in the mountains east of Port-Au-Prince, is the home to 5,000 people with various medical needs. The students partnered with Tallahassee-Haiti Medical Team to provide medical care to the community. They were able to see over 250 patients, inform them of proper oral health care, and distribute dental hygiene products. The community was overwhelmed with join that a dentist was visiting, that on the first day there was a line wrapped around the clinic!
