The ah-ha moment happened when Executive Chair and Co-Founder Heather Hasson was grabbing coffee with a friend and nurse practitioner almost a decade ago. She couldn’t believe that her friend spent grueling 16-hour days serving others while wearing boxy, scratchy, and uncomfortable scrubs. And, worse still, she didn’t have any options available to improve her situation.
Heather could not help but think about how many apparel companies were focused on giving professional athletes every possible advantage through cutting-edge materials and purpose-driven designs. She thought: What about the people saving lives? Who is focused on them?
With a background in fashion, Heather set her sights on revolutionizing the industry by creating technically advanced apparel and products for the modern healthcare professional. At the same time, it was clear that both the design and distribution of scrubs were antiquated and ripe for disruption, and that healthcare professionals deserved innovative, functional products and an efficient distribution model built around their particular needs.
She quickly partnered with CEO and Co-Founder Trina Spear to not merely improve scrubs, but to completely transform the healthcare experience and empower and celebrate the people doing this important work.
